Stepping into an appointment with one feels an immediate sense of authority and comfort. That’s a good thing especially when you are dealing with the most important part of our mobility – everything below the waist.
“I’ve always been obsessed with our movement,” says Dr. Guyen. “Our feet are as intricate as our heart and our legs are great specimens of science. They are quite amazing.”
So is Dr. Guyen’s resume, Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Dr. Guyen received her B.S. degree from Fairfield University, Connecticut and earned her medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. She is a member of the prestigious Phi Delta National Honor Society and graduated top of her graduating class and completed a 3-year residency program in Reconstruction Foot and Ankle Surgery at Hoboken University Medical Center, considered one of the country’s top residency programs and where she later served as the Assistant Residency Director from 2000-2012.
Dr. Guyen will continue to specialize in what she knows best, both the conservative and surgical treatment of all foot and ankle conditions, ranging from pediatric to geriatric. Her experiences range from conservative foot surgery to more advance surgical reconstructive of the foot and ankle including trauma, limb salvage and revisional surgery.
For Dr. Guyen being active both in an out of the office are keys to a healthy career. She has volunteered and sponsored many sporting events such as New York City Marathon, Hoboken Harrier Runner’s Club, Susan G. Komen walk for Breast Cancer and Walk Against Brain Cancer.
Inside, she is a Fellow with American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and holds active memberships with American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Member Association, American Diabetes Association, New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society, Florida Podiatric Society.
Currently, Dr. Guyen serves as adjunct faculty member at Barry University School of Podiatric medicine and instructor at Mount Sinai medical Center Podiatric Residency Program.
